Vairamudi festival is a festival celebrated
in Karnataka. It is celebrated in the month
of March. The Vairamudi festival takes place
in the Cheluvanarayana temple in Melkote.The
presiding deity is Lord Cheluvarayaswamy.
The Lord is decorated with a crown that
is brought from the Mysore Palace. The idols
of the consorts, Sridevi and Bhoodevi are
also decorated. The Vairamudi festival is
a popular festival for the localites and
a lot of devotees from far and near throng
the place. The special Pujas, the grand
decorations, flower arrangements etc make
this festival attractive to thousands of
tourists year after year.
