
The
famous thousand pillar temple is located
in the Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh.
As the name indicates the temple has a thousand
pillars to its credit. Each pillar is beautifully
sculpted and carved that adds to the magnificence
and richness of the temple. The deities
worshipped here are Lord Suva, Vishnu and
Surya. The temple is easily accessible by
road as it very near the highway. The temple
was built by the king Rudra Deva in the
twelfth century. The temple serves as an
important place of worship along with being
an important monument of the rich heritage
of the past.
