Periyar
Wildlife Sanctuary holds a proud place among
wildlife sanctuaries. It is located in the
Western Ghats in Kerala. The Tiger Reserve
in Periyar is one of the most popular Tiger
Reserves of the country. The Indian Elephants
is the most popular species that tourists
come to watch here. There are a lot of other
wildlife species seen here. The Dam here
is the main reservoir. Kerala as such is
a fertile land, and the various varieties
of flora that grows naturally here help
in the sustenance of many an animal. Some
of the popular animals seen here are - Gaur,
Wild Pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer,
Dole or Indian Wild Dog and Tiger. There

are Kumily, Cardamom Hills and the various
boat cruises in the lake.
