Makara Sankranti is celebrated in Andhra
Pradesh in South India with a lot of pomp
and celebration. This festival is to mark
the incline of the Sun to the Northern Hemisphere.
On the day of the Makara Sankranti Festival
people take holy dips in the water followed
by prayers to the Sun God. It is also the
harvest festival and special prayers are
offered to mark the thanksgiving for the
harvest. The Makara Sankranti festival is
a four day long festival, celebrated under
the names - Bhogi Panduga, Pedda Panduga,
Kanuma Panduga, and Mukkanuma Panduga
