Karaga
festival is the oldest and most important
festival of Bangalore – Karnataka.
The Karuga festival is based on the mythological
themes of the stories of the Mahabharata.
The festival is celebrated with a lot of
pomp and ceremony in Bangalore. The principal
deity of the Tigalas is Draupadi. It is
believed that during the celebration of
the Karaga festival, the power of Draupadi
is supposed to brim over the devotees. It
is a very colorful festival and people celebrate
it with a lot of enthusiasm. The festival
attracts a lot of tourists as well.
